  Faye Irene Seibel, aged 96, of Ellis, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at the Good Samaritan Society in Ellis, Kansas. She was born on March 16, 1927, in Horton, Kansas, to loving parents Roy and Effie (Keener) Huffman.

Faye graduated from Horton High School in 1945, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey filled with love, passion, and dedication.

On December 21, 1947, Faye married the love of her life, Henry "Hank" Seibel, with whom she shared a deep and enduring bond until his passing on December 13, 2002. Together, they embarked on a journey of entrepreneurship and owned Seibel Liquor in Ellis, creating cherished memories and a strong sense of community.

Faye was a passionate golfer, a love that endured until the impressive age of 79. She dedicated 47 years to the sport and achieved the remarkable feat of carding 2 hole-in-ones during her golfing career. Faye was a multi-time Ladies Champion at the Ellis Golf Club, a testament to her dedication and skill on the greens. Even after she retired from playing, she found solace in watching the golf course and the golfers from her picture window, a place where she spent countless hours reflecting on her love for the game.

Faye and Hank were inseparable companions, spending much of their cherished time together on the golf course for Faye and fishing adventures for Hank. Their shared experiences created lasting memories that will be treasured by their loved ones forever.

Faye is survived by her loving son, Gary Seibel of Clayton, North Carolina, and her devoted daughter, Kathryn Bertelmann of Ellis. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy through her seven grandchildren: Marty, Amy, Aubree, Joshua, Daniel, James, and Ben, as well as 12 great-grandchildren who brought joy and happiness to her life.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry, and two brothers, Jim and Roy Jr.

Faye's memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Funeral services to honor Faye's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 29, 2023, at Keithley Funeral Chapel, 400 E. 17th, Ellis, KS 67637. A private family inurnment will take place in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Ellis.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Ellis Ladies Golf Association for the Memorial Bench fund.
