Ida (Montgomery) Redmond, age 84, of Hays, Kansas, passed away March 25, 2023, at Hays Medical Center. She was born June 7, 1938, in Victoria, Kansas, to Fletcher and Margaret (Berens) Montgomery. She married Lucas Romey and they later divorced. Ida moved to Mesa, Arizona, where she met and married Frank Redmond. He preceded her in death. She lived in Arizona for over 30 years working as a hair stylist. Ida was a great cook, and was always interested in playing bingo, cards, rummy cubes, puzzles, and reading.
She was proceeded in death by; her parents Fletcher and Margaret, brothers Sonny and Dale, sister Alice, three sons Randy, Bruce, and Alvin.
She is survived by; Sons Kevin Romey (Karla) Scott, La; Charles Romey Hays, Ks; Terry Romey (Linda) Norton, Ks; David Romey Ardmore, Ok; Daughter; Debbie Brassfield (Allen); Grandchildren; Kyle Romey, Amanda Olivier, Jake Romey (Bethany), Audra McAdoo (Scott), Analise Romey, James Brassfield, Natasha Brassfield, Katrina Brassfield, Sarah Romey, Melanie Romey, Jennifer Lindsay (Jed), and Spencer Romey, and 14 Great Grandchildren.
Per Ida’s wishes her body has been donated to science and there will be no viewing. A private service will be held at a later date.
