Lemeul Lemoin Marsh

Lemeul Lemoin Marsh, 76, of Oberlin, KS, passed away January 12, 2023,  at his home. He was born January 5, 1947, in Norton, KS to Delbert and LeNeta (Nickerson) Marsh.

Lem grew up in Almena, KS and was a 1965 graduate of Almena High School. As a kid he was active in Boy Scouts and FFA. He went on to receive a Master’s in Education from Fort Hays State University. Lem started his career in Hoxie as the Special Education Director and then went to Atwood and was the Director at the school cooperative. Lem and his family then moved to Clyde, KS where he was the principal for grades K-6 and 9-12. He then served as the Elementary School Principal in Norton for three years, the Greensburg Elementary and Junior High Principal for eight years and then ended his full-time teaching career in Dodge City as the Assistant Director of the SW Kansas Special Education Cooperative in Dodge City, KS. Lem married Alyce Hanoch on March 9, 1996 in Denver, CO. In his spare time, Lem loved photography, hunting, and fishing. Most of all, he loved his children and stepchildren and geocaching with his grandchildren. Lem was an active member of the Smoky Hills Trails Association and a lifetime member of the NRA.

Lem is survived by his wife, Alyce of the home; children: Jeff (Debra) Marsh of Baldwin City, KS, Michelle (Brian) Frickey of Ellis, KS, Steven (Rhonda) Marsh of Tonganoxie, KS, and Cindy Marsh of Elk City, OK; stepchildren: Kristy (James Roberts) Cox of Casper, WY, Tracy Hanoch of Grainfield, KS, and Kim (Steve Romero) Heatley of Aurora, CO; brother, Chancey Marsh of Norton; 16 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents, Delbert and LeNeta Marsh; infant daughter, Kimberly Marsh, and sister, Delberta Wentz.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 am Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Norton Cemetery. Lem will lie in state from 2:00-5:00 pm Monday, January 16, at the funeral home.
