Luana Lillia Moran, 76, La Crosse, Kansas, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024, at her home.
Luana was born September 29, 1947, in Winfield, Kansas, the daughter of Donald Eugene and Orietta I. (Blanchette) Patchen. She was a resident of Rush County, Kansas, since 1998 moving there from California. A 1965 graduate of Mater Dei High School, Santa Anna, California, she was a dispatcher for the Rush County Sheriff’s Department for six years before her retirement. She was also employed at Casey’s General Store in La Crosse, Kansas, before her retirement.
Luana adored her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them and attending as many of their events as she could. She also enjoyed crafting.
Survivors include: two sons, Robert Mitchell (Laurie), Bison, Kansas, and Erik Mitchell (Kerri), La Crosse, Kansas; 15 grandchildren, Nicholas Mitchell, Kelsey Monahan, Ceciley MacDonald, Lacey Mitchell, Hunter Mitchell, Chase Mitchell, Christopher Mitchell, Destiny Mitchell, Taliyah Mitchell, Reese Mitchell, Isabella Mitchell, Michael Mitchell, McKenna Morss, Madison Mitchell, and Marlee Mitchell; 11 great grandchildren; one sister, Dona Herzig, Pahrump, Nevada; and her companion, Scott Romo, Great Bend, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph Moran; and a great grandson, Lucas Monahan.
Visitation will be Monday, February 26, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse, Kansas.
Memorial service will be Monday, February 26, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at the Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse, Kansas, with Pastor Terry Warner officiating.
Memorials are suggested to St. Mary’s Shrine Inc., Loretto, Kansas.
