Rosetta E. Garnand, 96, died Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at The Ranch House in Garden City, Kansas. She was born February 16, 1927, in Larned, Kansas, the daughter of Joseph O. and Pearl (Butts) Jarboe.

Rosetta grew up in Larned, Kansas where she attended schools and graduated from high school.

On November 12, 1946, she married Kelsey D. Garnand in Larned, Kansas. They have lived in Garden City since.

A homemaker, Rosetta was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church, the Happy Homemakers, EHU, and the Twin Mother’s Club. She also volunteered her time serving on the election board, served as a Den Mother, working at Dr. Fry’s office, and cleaning their rental properties. Rosetta enjoyed spending her time crocheting, knitting, decorating and baking for the holidays, making Halloween cookies, growing flowers, word search puzzles, playing games, and watching Wheel of Fortune and Impractical Jokers. She also loved to spend time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Survivors include four children, Danny Garnand of Guthrie, Oklahoma, Jolene Novack of Garden City, Kansas, Janel and husband Greg Haflich of Garden City, Kansas, and DeWain Garnand of Garden City, Kansas; a daughter-in-law Janice Garnand of Overland Park, Kansas; three sisters, Venita Patzell of Manhattan, Kansas, Mary Will of Wichita, Kansas, and Cheryl Robertson of Wichita, Kansas; 21 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren with one more on the way; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Rosetta is preceded in death by her husband Kelsey who died on April 22, 2010. She is also preceded in death by her parents; son David Garnand; daughter-in-law Debbie Garnand; son-in-law Danny Novack; brothers Robert Jarboe and Joe Jarboe; and great-granddaughters Adryon Knoll and Shelby Novack.

A rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Garden City, Kansas. Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. also at St. Dominic Catholic Church with Rev. Warren Stecklein as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Garand Funeral Home in Garden City.

The family suggests memorials given to St. Dominic Catholic Church, St. Mary Catholic Church, or to Meals on Wheels, all in care of the funeral home.
