Kent Gale Kriley passed away on September 14, 2022, at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas at the age of 75. He was born on June 16, 1947, in Sterling, Kansas to Gerald and Feliceine (Parker) Kriley.
Kent was a lifelong Kansas resident and lived in several Kansas towns before his family settled in Plainville.
Kent attended Sacred Heart Grade School and Plainville High School. After high school graduation with the class of 1966, he went to work as a roustabout in the oil field. He then drove for J.J. Auto Sales and sold snake root. Kent was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed KU Basketball, KSU Football and the Kansas City Chiefs. He was known for his humor and didn’t pass up an opportunity to make those around him laugh at his jokes.
He is survived by his brother Darrell Kriley of Plainville, KS; sisters, Margaret Kriley of Lenexa, KS, Gerri Potter of St. Joseph, MN, nephew Sean (Sarah) Potter of Washington, D.C., niece Krista Potter of St. Joseph, MN, great-nephew Ethan Potter of Washington D.C., cousins and friends.
Kent is preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Feliceine; and a brother Michael Kriley.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at 10:30 AM at the Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home in Plainville.
