Lifetime Wallace County resident Donnie Lee Hoss died on January 2, 2024, in Sharon Springs, KS.
Donnie was born January 5, 1946, in Goodland, KS, the son of Wayne and Verna Hoss. He graduated from Wallace County Community High School with the class of 1963.
On August 21, 1963, he and Sherry Hoover were married. To this union a daughter Angela K Hoss was born.
Donnie grew up helping his dad with livestock, mostly cattle and horses. Early in his life he started driving semi-trucks hauling livestock. He then bought his own truck and had his own business Hoss Livestock. Donnie saw a lot of the US and made friends wherever he went.
He was so proud of his daughter, watching her ride horses and her accomplishments made him smile.
Preceding him in death were his wife Sherry, his parents Wayne and Verna, in-laws Don and Ileene Hoover, and sister-in-law Roxie Hoss.
The surviving family includes Angela Hoss and husband Brian Raney of Lakin, KS. Grandson Trey Raney of Lakin, KS. Brother Ronnie Hoss of La Junta, CO, nephews Chad (Sandra) Hoss of Lakeside, CA, Donwayne Hoss of La Junta, CO, Quincy (Leanne) Hoss of Lakeside, CA. Brother in-law Roger (Missy) Hoover of Rocky Ford, CO. Nephews Jeremy (Cary) of Salina, KS, and Jericho (Amanda) of Assaria, KS.
