In a Securities and Exchange Commissioner filing Wednesday, Gannett Co. Inc. said Maribel Perez Wadsworth, president of Gannett Media, has announced her intention to resign from the company.
Gannett is the owner of the USA Today Network. Its predecessor company, Gatehouse, formerly owned the Hays Daily News before selling it and several other properties to Cherryroad Media.
In Kansas, Gannett still operates newspapers in Hutchinson, Salina and Topeka.
Gannett, which still operates more than 200 newspapers across the country, recently announced it had lost $54 million in the second quarter — a result that led to the severe cost-cutting measures, including layoffs, mandatory furloughs and suspension of 401(k) contributions.
