Christy was born on May 12, 1968, to James Wilkinson and Carolyn (Dimmitt) Wilkinson in Marshalltown, Iowa. Christy was a dedicated wife to her husband, James, and mother to her children, Mead and Molly. After completing her education, Christy initially served as a compliance professional for Qualmed Medical Insurance in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and later at Principal Financial Group in Des Moines, Iowa. Christy understood the importance of service to children and as her family grew, she volunteered to serve on the Board of All Aboard for Kids which specializes in serving the needs of autistic children in the Story County Iowa community. Christy was also employed by the Collins-Maxwell School District and later the Ames School District as a teacher’s aide working with children who had special needs. Christy was a tender soul who was a mother and friend to all. Christy was raised in the First Presbyterian Church in Marshalltown whose members supported her in prayer throughout her life and recent illness. Christy had a strong faith in the Lord and we rejoice that she is finally at home with our Lord. We will Love Her For Eternity.
Christy is survived by her husband, James Hardacre; two children, Mead and Molly Hardacre of Ames; her mother, Carolyn Wilkinson of Marshalltown; her brother, Wesley Wilkinson of Burlington NC; her brother and sister-in-law, Wiley and Denise Wilkinson of Chaska, MN, and her nephews and their spouses, Zach and Hannah Wilkinson, Minneapolis MN, and Logan and Anna Wilkinson, Rosemount MN.
Christy was preceded in death by her father, James Wilkinson; her paternal grandparents, Evelyn and Max Wilkinson, and her maternal grandparents Etha and Carl Dimmitt.
