Michael James “Woody” Woodrow, 68, of Lakin, died Nov. 10, 2022 in the Girard Medical Center in Girard.
Michael was born Sept. 8, 1954, in Great Bend, to Woodrow Wilson and Gladys Rosalie (McMullen) Woodrow. He grew up and attended schools in Great Bend. During high school, and the decades following, he played guitar and sang in numerous bands.
Michael married Nancy Maddox on Sept. 6, 1997, in Great Bend. She survives.
Michael worked with the clients at Sunflower Diversified Services in Great Bend from 1983 until he retired in 2013.
He enjoyed his family, playing guitar and singing in various bands, and working with the clients and staff at Sunflower Diversified.
Survivors include Nancy, of Larned, his sons, Adam Woodrow, Larned; Rostin Tammen, Rush Center; his daughter, Jenessa Tammen, Independence, Mo.; his sister, Meleah Frazer of Great Bend; his nieces, Melissa Malcom, Alisha Farmer, (Matt,) and Jenna Fanshier, (Ben) along with numerous great-nieces and nephews.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Gary Woodrow, and his brother-in-law, Jim Frazer.
As were Michael’s wishes, his remains have been donated to the University of Kansas Medical Center for anatomical study.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
