James “Jim” Albert Conley, 76, died January 5, 2024, at his home in Great Bend, Kan. &nbsp;He was born Oct. 6, 1947, in Seminole, Texas, the son of Albert and Mahota J. (Blackerby) Conley. &nbsp;He moved to Great Bend in 1981, coming from Oklahoma. &nbsp;Jim worked in the oilfield for many years. &nbsp;He was an avid hunter and fisherman and could tell fish stories with the best of them. &nbsp;He had a passion for making lures and if you were lucky enough to receive them, consider yourself a true friend.

Jim married Vera (Staudinger) Patterson in 1983. &nbsp;They spent many days fishing and picking sandhill plums. &nbsp;He is survived by Vera Conley; two sons, Jimmy Conley and Jordan Conley (Laurel); stepchildren, Karen Herl (Glenn), Keith Patterson (Cindy), Connie Piland, Cathy Crain (Tracy), Kevin Patterson (Lori); nieces, Rachel, Catherine and Sarah; as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Joanne Imes; and nephew, Jonathan Imes. &nbsp;A Memorial Reception will be had 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024, at the Parish Center at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 4100 Broadway, Great Bend. &nbsp;

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Jim Conley Memorial Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.&nbsp;
