Jetmore – Donna Ruth Salmans, 85, passed away August 4, 2024 at her home in Jetmore.
She was born April 2, 1939 in Dodge City, the daughter of George Henry Herman and Leona “Ruth” (Harms) Harms. A lifetime area resident, she was an EMT for over forty years and was a Bus Driver and Transportation Director for USD #227.
She was a member of the Lutheran faith and attended the United Presbyterian Church in Jetmore where she was involved in the church kitchen. Donna was a 4-H member/ leader and loved being on the ambulance and serving as an EMTΙ.
On August 20, 1956, she married Lyle C. Salmans at the Hodgeman County St. Michaels Lutheran Church. He passed away September 7, 2014.
Survivors include: two sons, Bruce Salmans and wife Gina, Cimarron, Duane Salmans and wife Kaylin, Dodge City; two daughters, Lyla Lonnberg and husband Kurt, Jetmore and Sara Burke and husband Justin, Wichita; twelve grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Darrel Harms, Gordon Harms and Dean Harms.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 10, 2024 at the United Presbyterian Church, Jetmore, with Rev. Stanley Palmer presiding. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2024 at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be in the Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore.
