December 22, 1947 - August 2, 2023

On August 2nd of this year she left her earthly body and now resides with her Heavenly Father, and our Lord  and Savior Jesus Christ.

She was born on December 22, 1947 at Fort Leavenworth Station Hospital, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, to John Dee Brisco and Imogene Evelyn Winchell.

At the time of her birth, her father was in the Army Air Corps and was later absorbed into the United States Air Force. As a child growing up her father was stationed in places such as Hawaii, Japan, California, Oklahoma and Texas; it was during these deployments that she received the majority of her education.

Whenever her father was stationed abroad where the family couldn’t accompany him, they would live with her maternal grandparents in Kansas City, Kansas. Her father later retired from the Air Force in El Paso, Texas.

On June 9, 1967 she earned her operator's certificate from the 5th Texas State Board of Hairdressers and Cosmetologists and worked as a manicurists at a salon in El Paso, Texas.

On August 12, 1969 she married Coy Davis, El Paso County, Texas and it was at that time that they moved to Garden City, Kansas. While married to Coy, she was employed as an inhalation therapist at St. Catherine Hospital. They were divorced on March 16, 1979.

In 1974, she was hired by Juvenile Judge Donald Farr as a secretary for the Finney County Probation Department. She then worked as the administrative secretary for the state of Kansas 25th Judicial District Court Services Division and the state of Kansas 25th Judicial District Court. She retired on December 31, 2012 after completing 38 years of service.

On May 23, 1980, she married Daryl D. Huckins at the First Christian Church, Garden City, Kansas. On May the 23rd of this year they celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending her time attending Bible studies, helping with vacation bible school and volunteering at her church. She was a member of the YMCA Aerobics and nurtured many new friends who met regularly for meals and celebrating birthdays. She also enjoyed her cross and angel collection. For years she and her husband would tour on their motorcycle and even went as far as Florida which included a round trip of 13 states.

She is survived by her husband of the home; a brother, Anthony Brisco , Bradford, Tennessee, her son Michael (Tracy) Davis, Holcomb, Kansas and two stepsons, Shawn (Junita) and Darren (Lorraine Bruce) Huckins of Hempstead, Texas along with one maternal granddaughter and great-grandson and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren from their blended union.

She was preceded in death by her parents and another stepson, Richard Huckins of Bellville, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. August 5, 2023 at the First Christian Church of Garden City. Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials either to the First Christian Church or St. Catherine Hospice in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
