Richard Michael Zerr, of Grainfield, Kansas passed away on September 14, 2023, at the Redbud Village in Plainville, Kansas, at the age of 70. He was born on May 9, 1953, to Balcer and Julia (Heier) Zerr in Quinter, Kansas.
He married Jill (Tucker) they later divorced.
Richard grew up on the farm in Gove.
He graduated from Wheatland High School in 1971.
He was an avid hunter. He enjoyed hunting coyotes, pheasants and deer. He was a farmer and rancher and spent many hours with his cattle. He retired from Gove County Road Department. Richard also enjoyed watching his nieces and nephews play sports.
Richard is survived by his siblings, Lorena (Edward) Ludolph, of Oakley, KS, Ron (Debra McNeill) Zerr, of Wichita, KS, Connie Fahrenz, of Denton, TX, sister-in-law, Mary Lou Zerr, of Dodge City, KS, Rex Zerr, of Parachute, CO; stepdaughter, Dayna (Jonathan) Alexander, of Bird City, KS; stepson, Kyle Shaw, of Grainfield, KS; stepgreat-granddaugher, Brooklyn Alexande; nieces and nephews, Shawn Ludolph, Julie Whitcraft, Kimberly Gentry, Jared Zerr, Amber Zerr, Stacy Gile, Curtis Gile and Corey Zerr.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Randy Zerr.
A Memorial Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Grainfield, KS. He will be buried at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Park, KS.
