Jean Katherine (Barbish) Langness of Hoxie, Kansas, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, September 3, 2022. Jean and her twin sister, Joan, were born February 8, 1953, in Breckenridge City, Pennsylvania, to Anthony and Cyreitha E. (Scroth) Barbish.
When Jean was four years old, the family move to California where Jean grew up with five sisters. Shortly after moving to California Jean’s sister, Joan, lost her life in an accident. Jean attended and graduated from Granada Hill High School. After high school, Jean moved to Colorado Spring, Colorado to attend Blair Business College. She graduated with a Paralegal Degree. Jean was married and widowed twice. She had two sons. She met David Michael Langness in 1989 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They were united in marriage December 1, 1999, at the Assembly of God Church, Colorado Springs. Jean and Dave worked in Colorado Springs until 2011 when they moved to Hoxie, Kansas.
Jean and Dave moved to Hoxie to care for their young granddaughter when her father had surgery and during his recovery time. Jean and Dave fell in love with Hoxie, Kansas and decided to make it their permanent home. They eventually went to work for Wes and Casey Bainter. For a time, Jean was the cook at Sheridan Estates while Dave was the repair person. Their jobs changed and evolved over time.
Jean was a great cook as well as a baker who loved to design and bake beautiful cakes. She loved talking with and entertaining friends and family. Jean had a deep faith and loved her Lord and Savior with all her heart. Jean’s family was especially important and love of her life. She was very enthusiastic about helping families with missing children and was a member of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Jean is survived by her husband, David M. Langness of Hoxie, Kansas; children, Robert Rahier of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Gerald Rahier of Hoxie, Kansas, Craig Langness and Colleen Gagliardi; sisters, Toni of Moorehead, California, Terry and Carol of Gardnerville, Nevada; grandchildren, Molly Rahier, Tyler Truelson (Kathryn), Hayley Langness, Chloe Langness, Troy Gagliardi, J.D. Langness, Gerald Rahier and Jett Rahier.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Cyreitha Barbish, and sisters, twin sister, Joan, Bonnie, and Connie.

A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, September 10, 2022, 10:30 A.M. at the Hoxie Christian Church. Private inurnment at a later day. The family suggests memorials to the Jean K. Langness Memorial fund.
