Richard D. Bronson, 78, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Sunday, Dec. 18, 2022.
He was born in Duluth, Minnesota, on October 8, 1944. He grew up in Kensington, Kansas, and graduated from Kensington High School. Dick then went on to barbering school in Greensburg, Kansas. From 1965 to 1969, he served in the United States Navy.
In 1970, he married Carla Schick, and they made their home in Salina. Dick was a barber up until he and his business partner started a flooring business.
Dick enjoyed going to the lake, golfing, watching sports, playing cards, being a jokester, and making people laugh.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Myrtle Bronson; wife, Carla Bronson; sister, Bobbie Johnson; and granddaughter, Paige Peterson.
Dick is survived by his daughters, Melissa Bronson and Melanie Peterson; granddaughters, Kayla Arthur (Daz), Jayme Dawson, and McKenna Peterson; great- grandson, Paxton (Little Buddy); sister, Dixie Rietzke (Jerry); and nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 7, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N 8th, Salina KS.
Memorials can be made to the family in care of Ryan Mortuary.
Per Dick’s request an afterparty at Chuck’s (600 N Santa Fe Ave, Salina) will take place immediately after the service.
