Carole Ruby Dunn, 86, longtime resident of Ogallala, NE, passed away Wednesday, December 7th, 2022, in North Platte, NE.
Carole was born June 25th, 1936, in Ogallala to Herb and Mary Davison. She attended Ogallala Public Schools, graduating in 1954.
On May 29th, 1954, she married Melvin W. Dunn in Ogallala, where they lived for many years before moving to their home in the country. She was employed at TRW, in real estate sales, and several local retail businesses before retiring.
Carole was a master seamstress, sewing clothing, Christmas pajamas, and quilts and rugs for all the family. She also enjoyed gardening and taking drives around the lake. She loved having all of her grandkids and great grandkids running around the farm. Carole will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.
Carole is survived by a son Melvin R. Dunn (Barb) of St. Francis, KS. Three daughters, Beth Hansmeier (Lonne), Laura Rivas (Luis), and Shiela Apolius all of Ogallala. A sister, Karen Green, of Ogallala, a brother Herbie Davison (Sunnee) of Lincoln, NE; fourteen grandchildren, Amber Faulkender (Tye) of St. Francis KS., Mandy Hovis of Plainville, KS., Dustin Dunn (Amber) of Wray, CO., Kelsey Dunn (Robert) of St Francis, KS., Zac Fornander (Nicki) of Sidney, NE., Molly Koehn (Kent) of Gothenburg, NE., Leon Hansmeier (Amanda) of Lincoln, NE., Martin Rivas (Neva) of Ogallala, Jeromy Rivas (Rene) of Sterling, CO., Eric Rivas of Ogallala, Sarah Rivas of Ogallala, Nicholas Rivas (Alexa) of Ogallala, Josh Apolius (Megan) of Grant, NE., Jamie Apolius of Ogallala and 24 great grandchildren.
Carole was proceeded in death by her husband of 65 years, Melvin, One brother Richard Davison, son- in- law Don Apolius, sister-in-law Mona Davison, nephew Mike Davison, and brother-in-law, Jack Green.
A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
