Scott Thomas Parrott, 56, Nekoma, Kansas, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023, at his home.
Scott was born November 3, 1967, in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Raymond T. and Joyce (Halling) Parrott. He was a resident of Rush County, Kansas, for two years, moving from Las Vegas, Nevada. A 1986 graduate of Healy High School, Healy, Kansas, he worked for the MGM Grand in Las Vega, Nevada, as a security guard.
Scott loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his nephews and nieces. He promised his father he would take care of his mom, and he committedly did. He was a movie buff, enjoyed computer technology, a dog lover, and a Kansas City Chiefs fan, combining his love of dogs and the Chiefs when he named his beloved dog Mahomie. He was a Power Red Blood Donor, and served in the Kansas Army National Guard.
Survivors include: his mother, Joyce Parrott, Nekoma, Kansas; two brothers, Gregory Parrott (Stefanie), La Crosse, Kansas, and Richard Parrott (Eva), Hays, Kansas; three sisters, Monica Scrudder, Gig Harbor, Washington, Jennifer York (Daren), Scott City, Kansas, and Myrna Parrott (Jacob Murdoch), Las Vegas, Nevada; many nephews and nieces; and his beloved Mahomie.
He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Michael Brett Parrott; one sister, Janelle Whalen; and one brother in law, Steve Scrudder.
Per Scott’s wishes, the family has chosen cremation. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers or plants, the family requests memorials to the Rush County American Red Cross Blood Drive.
