Annette M. Schaben, 76, La Crosse, Kansas, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2023, at Leisure Homestead Association, Stafford, Kansas.
Annette was born February 18, 1947, in Zwolle, Netherlands, the daughter of Johanne and Johanna (Serheeis) deVries. She was a resident of La Crosse, Kansas, since 2008, moving there from Canandaigua, New York. She was a homemaker.
On December 26, 1968, she married John W. Schaben. He preceded her in death April 11, 2016.
Survivors include: two sons, Michael Schaben (Suzanne), Louisville, Kentucky, and Robert Schaben (Dawn), La Crosse, Kansas; two grandchildren, Taylor Schaben Bel (Zachary Otto), La Crosse, Kansas, and Thomas John Schaben, La Crosse, Kansas; one brother Ralph deVries (Eve), Dunedin, New Zealand; and one sister Olga Gilchrist (Harry), Christchurch, New Zealand.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one brother, Peter deVries.
Memorial service will be Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. at the Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse, Kansas, with Pastor Terry Warner officiating.
In lieu of flowers or plants, the family requests memorials to A Second Chance Thrift Shop, La Crosse, Kansas, or The Arc Of Central Plains, Hays, Kansas, or The American Cancer Society.
