Walsenburg, CO resident, Brendon Michael Beach—a son, a husband, a father, a friend—went home to be with his Savior on March 9th, 2024. He was born on November 10, 1993 in Hays, KS the son of Tracy and Kim (Rodgers) Beach.
Brendon was always on the edge of life, whether that edge was on a mountain he was climbing or the chair he was leaning back in. His mother, Kim Beach, remembers that “he mastered climbing before he was walking,” and before long his father, Tracy, had to cut every tree limb Brendon could reach to keep him out of the tops of the trees. He was soon leading his younger sisters, Taylor and Alexi, on every adventure his imagination could dream up.
His love of heights and ledges never faded, and Brendon moved to Colorado in 2017 to work for San Isabel Electric Company so he could be close to the mountains. He had a family of friends before he had a permanent address. It wasn’t long before he met his future wife, Sadie Linton, who was a perfect, patient balance in his life. He made it his mission to make her smile, even in the worst of times. As was his way, Brendon married Sadie in 2018 on top of a rock at Garden of the Gods.
But the balance of a wife was not quite enough, so God sent them their son, Micah. The man who sought thrill in every moment was transformed in an instant, and met friends and family at the door with a gallon of hand-sanitizer and insisted they sanitize “up to the elbow” before meeting his new baby; and even then it was hard to pry Micah out of his loving arms for more than a few moments. Another son, Isaac, soon followed, and just for extra measure, the Lord sent him an adoring daddy’s girl, Adelia. Kim distinctly remembers seeing the same look Tracy wore at Brendon’s birth take over her grown son’s face, and she knew that in those moments Brendon found his favorite adventure: that of a father.
Though tempered, Brendon never lost his love for excitement. With his infectious smile and quick laugh, he never failed to convince those around him to go out on snowmobiles in the winter or on his boat in the summer. He attacked life with a rare enthusiasm, and no one could be near him without feeling as excited as he was.
Brendon is reunited in heaven with his loving Grandpa Carl, Grandma Mary, and four unborn nieces or nephews. His service will be held on Saturday, March 16th at 11:00am (MT) at the new school gym in La Veta, CO and all who were touched by his life or his passing are encouraged to attend. A second service will be held in his home state of Kansas on Tuesday, March 19th at the Community Church of God in Phillipsburg, KS at 11:00am (CT).
Brendon’s one, great wish in life was that everyone he met knew the true, eternal, wonderful adventure of knowing his Savior, Jesus Christ. One of his favorite verses in his worn, oft-read Bible, circled in black pen, stands at the forefront of the legacy he left behind: “For whosever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved.”
Survivors include his wife Sadie, sons Micah and Isaac, and daughter Adelia all of Walsenburg, CO; parents Kim and Tracy Beach of Phillipsburg; sisters Taylor Hardin and husband Tommy of Minden, NE and Alexi Sides and husband Riley of Almena, KS; maternal grandmother Shirley Ann Rodgers of Agra; paternal grandfather Frank Beach of Agra; and his nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Brendon Beach Memorial Fund and may be left at Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel or First National Bank, Phillipsburg, KS.
