Kip Michael Boomhower, 58, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Monday, November 14, 2022, at the KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.
Kip was born October 14, 1964, in Hoisington, Kansas. He was one of three children to Gerald and Virginia (Tauscher) Boomhower. He grew up in Russell and graduated from Russell High School.
Kip was united in marriage to Kathy Curtis on May 12, 1990, in Hudson, Kansas. This union was blessed with three children; Bailey, Jesse and Wyatt. They made their home in Russell.
Kip was a Rancher most all of his life in Russell. He was a member of the American Paint Horse Association, American Quarter Horse Association, and the Red Angus Association. He was a 4-H leader when his children were involved with 4-H.
Kip’s surviving family include his wife, Kathy of Russell, Kansas; daughter, Bailey Boomhower (Mitch) of Phillipsburg, Kansas; sons, Jesse Boomhower (Kelli) of Russell, Kansas and Wyatt Boomhower (Keena) of Ashland, Kansas; mother, Virginia Boomhower of Russell, Kansas; sisters, Lisa Moubry (Brian) of Bunker Hill, Kansas and Denise VanDegrift (Tom) of Luray, Kansas; and a grandchild, Avery Boomhower.
Kip was preceded in death by his father and infant daughter Valerie Boomhower.
A Greeting will be held from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday, November 21, 2022, at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, where the family will be present to greet friends. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM Monday at the mortuary.
A Memorial has been established with the Russell Community Thanksgiving Dinner. Contributions and condolences may be sent to Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, who is in charge of these arrangements.
