Edna J. Stairrett, 89, passed away September 26, 2023 at Hodgeman County Health Center, Jetmore.
She was born December 6, 1933 in Knoxville, Tennessee, the daughter of Jay Hugh and Emma Greene Green. She was a farm wife.
She was of the Presbyterian faith. She was a member of CASA, Democratic party committee chairwoman, trustee for Valley Township and was on the library board, Senior Center board and the Fairmount Cemetery board, all of Jetmore.
On September 3, 1955, she married Jack B. Stairrett in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He died October 21, 2011.
Survivors include two sons, Andy Stairrett, Joe (Svetlana) Stairrett, both of Jetmore; daughter, Jaci (Randy) Dumler, Ness City; two brothers, Johnny Green, Bahama, NC, David Green, Knoxville, TN; three sisters, Jeanette (Paul) Ownby, Mary Cash, Emma Lou Scarbro, all of Knoxville, TN; two sisters-in-law, Keiko Stairrett, Olympia, WA and Sandra Stum, Towner, CO; seven grandchildren, Amanda (Curtiss) Stairrett, Stephanie (Justin) Fuller, Danny (Mikki) Dumler, Lee Stairrett, Linda (Kevin) Stairrett, Grant (Rachel) Stairrett, Colt Stairrett; four great-grandchildren, Alexis Swinney, Aiden Schlotthauer, Braydin Schlotthauer, Kimberly Stairrett, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, and an infant son, Phillip William Stairrett.
Funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore, with Rev. Mark Durham presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, September 29, 2023 at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be in the Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore.
