Chantelle LaShae Scott

Posted Jun 02, 2024 1:35 AM

Chantelle Lashae Scott, age 23, gained her wings on May 21st, 2024 in Dodge City, Kansas. She was born on December 1st, 2000, the daughter of Craig Scott and Lori Wiseman.

She had an amazing love for animals and was active in 4-H from a very early age. She began showing at the age of 4 in Pee Wee Lamb showmanship. The highlight of her showing career was winning Reserve Grand Champion as 7 years old with her goat Sam at the Kansas Jr. Livestock show in 2008, which was the same year a tornado hit their farm. Chantelle believed you could never have enough dogs or cows.

Although born in Great Bend she spent her childhood years in Ransom, Kansas on the farm, where she helped with raising show lambs and got her start at showing. Livestock wasn’t her only strong suit; she would always brag about all her tractor pedal pull trophies she had won throughout the years, including receiving 3rd place at Nationals in South Dakota.

She began working at the age of 16. Chantelle received her CNA certificate, which she put to good use while caring for the elderly. Many of her jobs also included caring for animals. She had a kind heart toward others and touched so many lives along the way.

She had recently gotten engaged to Derrick Sprott in Colorado on top of Spanish Peaks. Chantelle and Derrick shared a close friendship and love for one another through sprint car races, and many little adventures they would travel on together.

Chantelle also loved her little sister Chailyn. The two shared a special moment in Phoenix, Arizona last December showing lambs and seeing the Grand Canyon. They also enjoyed livestock shows together, and weekend trips to Cedar Bluff Lake.

Chantelle was survived by dad Craig Scott, Ransom, mom Lori & Brent Wiseman, Wright, and sister Chailyn; Grandparents Don and Marianne Fritzler, Ness City and Bill and Mary Scott, Ransom; Aunts & Uncles John Fritzler, Ness City, Kent Scott, Ottawa, Nancy Scott, St. Louis, MO, Alvin & Karen Story, Grain Valley, MO, Monte & Joan Clarke, Manhattan, Janice Lewis, Seattle, WA, Chester & Barbara Burgett, Denver, CO, and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her great grandparents, Robert & Jessie Scott, Ransom, Delbert & Lucy Moody, Dodge City, and uncle Johnny Lewis, Seattle, WA.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Ness City, Kansas.
