Marilyn (Keeler) Leuenberger, age 82 years, longtime Great Bend, Kansas, resident, passed away late Wednesday evening, November 30, 2022, at Azria Health- Woodhaven Care Center in Great Bend. Marilyn was born on March 9, 1940, at Seward, Kansas, to Claude and Iva (Wetig) Keeler. She graduated from Radium High School in 1958, and worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for Great Bend Manor (and later when it became IHS), did childcare in her home, and also worked as a waitress at K-Bob’s in Great Bend. Marilyn loved to garden and crochet, loved bowling and watching her children play sports. She had a real love of “her” Kansas City Royals, and most of all loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include four sons: Butch Leuenberger of Great Bend, Layne (& Stephanie) Leuenberger of Great Bend, Troy Leuenberger of Great Bend, and Aaron (& Sharon) Leuenberger of Hays, Kansas; one daughter Lori Cooley of Great Bend; ten grandchildren: Brent Leuenberger, Chelsea Troyer, Dylan Cooley, Kayla Cooley, Logan Leuenberger, Landon Leuenberger, Lindsay Leuenberger, Lawsyn Leuenberger, Levi Leuenberger, and Lauren Kent; four brothers: Donald (& Betty) Keeler of Great Bend, Charles Keeler of Great Bend, Ivan Keeler of Colorado, and Larry Keeler of Great Bend; one sister Connie Eilts of Hays, Kansas; many nieces and nephews. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers: Claude Keeler Jr., Marvin Keeler, Eldon Keeler, Darrell Keeler, and John Keeler.
According to her wishes, cremation has been chosen and a Private Family Graveside Inurnment Service will be held at a later date.
