Tom F. Griffith - It's with great sadness to announce the passing of Tommy Fay Griffith. He passed peacefully on Friday, October 7th, in Eagle, Idaho,  with his family nearby.

Tommy was 88 years old, he leaves behind sons Bryan and Brett, daughter in law, Wendy and granddaughter, Caitlin.

Tommy was born in Delphos, Kansas, received an engineering degree at Kansas University and was wedded to Carol Joy Moon, his dedicated wife and mother to his two sons for 53 years until her life and fight with cancer ended in January of 2021.

Tommy had various engineering jobs throughout his career but was determined to further his education and return to school to achieve his Masters at New York University followed by his Doctorate at Indiana University.  He also was a Professor and shared his education and knowledge thru teaching at Arizona State University and Fort Hays University.

Tommy enjoyed traveling in his younger years, was passionate about Kansas University Men’s basketball and had a musical interest for street organ grinding.  He also had a talent for wood working and even built and pieced together his very own street organ that he would take out and play for various events and gatherings.  Tommy also enjoyed his membership in the Hays Rotary club, and as a Mason and loved giving back to the community.  He was quite clever with his jokes and quotes and always kept his audience smiling and laughing.

His sparkling blue eyes and bright warm smile was always rewarding.  Tommy’s passion for life, his family and interest in others will be missed by many.

The family Suggests memorials made payable to: The Fort Hays Endowment in care of Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 East 22nd Street, Hays, Kansas 67601.
