Juanita “Nita” Marie Anstaett, 96, peacefully left us for eternal rest on December 15, 2023, in Plano, TX, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born May 15th, 1927, in Garden City, Kansas to Milo Joyce Sr. and Rosa (Sager) Joyce and has been a lifetime resident of Garden City.
Nita is survived in life by her devoted husband of 63 years, Jack Anstaett; loving son Kurt Anstaett and daughter-in-law Katherine of Plano, TX; two adoring grandsons Jackson Anstaett and Jacob Anstaett; brother Lloyd Joyce of Garden City; and a multitude of nieces and nephews and their families who surrounded her with amazing love and support throughout her lifetime. Nita was preceded in death by her loving parents, a sister Marabelle Hoeme, brothers Lawerence Joyce and Milo Joyce Jr., all of Garden City.
She met and married the love of her life, Jack in 1961 and they went on to build a wonderful life in their community. A registered beautician for almost 60 years, owning Nita’s Neat Shop. She considered all her clients very dear friends and looked forward each week to visiting with each of them while styling their hair.
Nita was known for being such a loving and generous person, who dedicated her life to her family, faith, and friends, and would go out of her way to help anyone in need. She was a member of the Community Congregational Church and was admired for her outstanding cooking talents, divine cookies, and deserts, and always treasured planting her Spring flowers every year.
A family visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. with the memorial service beginning promptly at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 22nd at Garnand Funeral Home, 412 North 7th Street, Garden City, KS 67846, with a graveside service following at Valley View Cemetery.
