Alberta Adelle Geil, 87, of Almena, KS passed away March 21, 2024 at the Norton County Hospital. She was born October 5, 1936 in Long Island, Kansas to Cyrus A. and Cleta Mae (Cox) Delimont.
Alberta grew up in Long Island and then moved to Norton where she graduated from Norton Community High School. After high school, she attended nursing school and received her LPN license. Alberta married Hubert C. Geil on June 4, 1960 in Norton. Alberta worked hard raising her sons and taking care of her home. She was meticulous about her lawn and garden. Alberta was a member of the Almena United Methodist Church, Eastern Star and Norton Christian Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed oil painting and loved cooking, especially baking cookies. Most of all, she loved spending time with her sons and grandchildren. She was very proud when she became a great grandmother.
Alberta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hubert; son, Sidney Geil and many brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son, Johnny (Stacy) Geil of Garden City, KS; grandchildren: Aaron (Jessica) Geil of Lakewood, CO, Abbott (Ariel) Geil of Ingalls, KS, and Carissa Geil of Mesa, AZ; great grandson, Holden Geil, daughter-in-law, Sheila Piepho and numerous family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, March 28, 2024 at the Norton Christian Church. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Almena, KS.
