Betty Jean Bunker, 91, of Greeley, Colorado, died peacefully at her home in Greeley on January 10, 2024.
She was born April 21, 1932 Hays, Kansas to Charles and Eva (Harman) Baker and grew up on her family’s farm north of Hays in the Buckeye community. In 1950, Betty graduated from Hays High School, married Edward J. Bunker, and moved to Greeley where she resided for the remainder of her life. Betty and Edward were married 53 years before he preceded her in death in 2003. Betty’s number one priority was always her family. She greatly enjoyed cooking, in particular, baking with her granddaughters, gardening, spending time with her family, and playing bridge with her friends.
Betty is survived by her daughter Cynthia Conn of Lincoln, NE, son Gregory E. Bunker and wife Beverly of Centennial, CO, three granddaughters, Elizabeth Bunker and Alexandria Bunker, both of Charlotte, NC, and Lindsay Bunker of Valencia, CA, her sister JoAnn Koerner of Hays, and three brothers, Bill Baker of Upton, WY, David Baker and wife Marianne of Hendersonville, NC, and Tom Baker and wife Maria of Baja California.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edward, her parents, her stepmother, Henrietta (Westhusin) Baker, a son, James Bunker, a brother Charlie Baker, and her son-in-law Gary Conn.
Memorial services will be at a later date with inurnment in Linn Grove Cemetery in Greeley.
