Daryl Lynn Novotny, of Stockton, KS, passed away on January 4, 2023, at the Kearney Regional Medical Center in Kearney, NE, at the age of 81. He was born on June 15, 1941, to Ludvik and Zella “Sally” (Drennan) Novotny in Stockton. He married Pamela Kiehne on May 27, 1962, in Chicago, IL. They were blessed with one son, Scott. After Pam passed away in 1994, Daryl married Patty A. Hill on September 16, 2006, in Smith Center, KS, blessing him with four step-children, Troy, Todd, Travis, and Tamatha.
Daryl grew up in Stockton and graduated from Stockton High School in 1959. After high school he entered the workforce working for TWA Airline in Chicago where he met his wife Pam. When they moved back to Stockton he worked for Novotny Machine Shop, was part owner of Stockton Yamaha Shop, and retired as a USPS mail carrier. He also worked as a part-time Deputy for Rooks County Sheriff Department.
Daryl was an avid outdoorsman enjoying archery and shooting, target shooting with his family, arrowhead hunting, and motorcycle trips with Gene Miller. He spent a lot of time reading and he loved KU sports, his pets - and his dog Oliver. Mostly, he loved getting together with his family and a good happy hour.
Daryl is survived by his wife, Patty of the home in Stockton; son, Scott (Brenda) Novotny of Stockton; step-children, Troy Anderson of Agra, KS, Travis Anderson (Cheryl) of Agra, KS, and Tamatha Schurr (Jerud) of Phillpsburg, KS; and numerous step-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Pamela; step-son, Todd Anderson; and brother, Ronald (Kathy) Novotny.
Daryl was a good-hearted man who worked hard, enjoyed life and cherished his family and friends. His faith in God was not only a constant source of strength for himself, but also for all who knew him. We can smile because he lived and left us with cherished memories that will live forever in our hearts. He will be remembered in love.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at 1:30 PM with visitation on Tuesday, 3PM until 8PM at the funeral home in Stockton.
