Patricia Ann Baalman, 75, of Grinnell, died Thursday, March 21, 2024. She was born in Hays, KS, on November 11, 1948, to Andrew and Matilda (Dreher) Braun. Patricia married the love of her life, Thomas Baalman on June 13, 1970 and they enjoyed 50 wonderful years of marriage. She loved books and reading. She shared this love over her 38 years as a Librarian. She also worked at the Grinnell Schools for 31 years. Patricia was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Altar Society. She loved to garden and work in her yard, but her favorite thing to do was spending time with her grandchildren.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; husband Tom; brother Richard Braun and granddaughter Makena.
She is survived by her children, Dave (Dayla) Baalman and Melissa (Robert) Thompson; grandchildren, Kaden, Rylan, Mequela, Emma, Olivia and Caleb and brothers Jim (Sharon) Braun and Andrew Jr (Belinda) Braun.
Visitation is 5-7:00 p.m. with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at the Immaculate Conception Parish Center, Grinnell. Funeral Mass is at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday March 27, 2024, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Grinnell, with burial in the church cemetery.
