Annie Wauneta Parsons was born March 5, 1927, in Logan, Kansas, at the Hutchinson Farm to Willie “Bill” Carl and Annie Josephine (Fisk) Hutchinson and passed away peacefully December 5, 2022, at Norton County Hospital.
Waunnie was 8th out of 10 children, she and her siblings had a special bond and shared many fun times. Waunnie graduated from Logan High School in 1945 and then enjoyed teaching at the country school.
On October 9, 1947, she married her loving and devoted husband, Johnnie Parsons. They raised four children, DeeAnn, Max, Paula and Jill.
Waunnie was a homemaker, active member of the United Methodist Church and American Legion Auxiliary. She was very proud of her families military service. Waunnie was known for her baking and the many, many beautiful cakes she made for all occasions. She enjoyed the outdoors and shared the love of gardening and canning with many people. Her yard was a great place to sit, drink coffee and enjoy her love of flowers and birds. Waunnie also enjoyed quilting and she shared her beautiful hand-made quilts with family and friends. If there was a ballgame on tv, she was watching! Definitely never missing the KC Royals and Chiefs!
She is survived by son, Max (Karen) Parsons, Ness City, daughters, DeeAnn Ward, Hays, Paula Stutterhiem, Prairie View and Jill (Ray) Lampe, Tonganoxie. Grandchilden, Annie Diedrich, AJ Ward & Cathy, Dustin & Aimee Parsons, Barry & Nikki Parsons, Heather & Mark Solberg, Brandy & Jeremy Coozennoy, Will & Jamie Stutterheim, Cody, Weston and Sarah Lampe.
She was preceded in death by husband, Johnnie, son-in-laws, Spencer Stutterheim and Monk Ward, grandson-in-law, Randy Diedrich, her parents, brothers Leland, Max, Ward, Bill, Gene, and Don, sisters, Eve, Lucille and Phebe.
