Roberta “Bobbi” Jo Urban, 62, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2023, at her home in Richardson, Texas. Bobbi was born in Hays to Robert and Julaine “Janie” (Helget) Urban on May 15, 1961.
Bobbi grew up in Hays, graduating from Thomas Marian Prep High School in 1979. She later attended Fort Hays State University to earn her bachelor’s degree and two master’s degrees.
Her career was spent working in health care billing and coding administration.
In her spare time, Bobbi had been certified in scuba diving and enjoyed traveling with her son, Darren, on tropical diving vacations. She was a lifelong dog lover, a regular giant inflatable balloon handler in the annual Dallas Holiday Parade, and absolutely adored her only grandchild.
She is survived by her son Darren Bottorf; daughter Julia Bottorf, her partner Jake Lopez and granddaughter Birdie Lopez of San Antonio, Texas; brother Dave Urban and sister-in-law Jackie Urban, nephew Andrew Urban and niece Maria Urban of Lawrence.
Preceding her in death were her parents Robert and Janie Urban.
