Brenda May Glenn was born May 11, 1952 in Holdrege, NE, the daughter of James & Geraldine (Steinke) Hutchens. She passed away peacefully on May 4, 2024 at the Andbe Home in Norton, KS at the age of 71.
On May 31, 1970, Brenda was united in marriage to Eric Glenn while he was enlisted in the USAF & stationed at Scott AFB in Belleville, IL. Their second duty station was Kadena AFB in Okinawa, Japan. Upon leaving the service in 1973, the couple returned to Norton.
In 1984, opportunities took them to Shawnee, KS for 2 years, LaMars, IA for 7 years & Bella Vista, AR for 22 years where she worked as an executive assistant for the Walmart Pharmacy warehouse division. They retired to Roswell, NM & after 2 years they returned to Norton to be close to family.
Brenda enjoyed scrapbooking & stamping up.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Geraldine Hutchens, her brother-in-law David Poage & her nephew, Chester Poage.
Survivors include her husband Eric of the home; her father, James Hutchens of Norton; her daughter Heather Bensyl of Kentwood, MI; her son Christopher of Norton; sisters, Rebecca Vansickler of Bella Vista, AR & Dottie Poage of Norton & 2 grandchildren, Sophia Bensyl & Parker Wiese.
A graveside service for family and close friends will be held Sat. May 18 at 2:00 p.m. in the Norton Cemetery with Bishop Josh Choate officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Andbe Home or Hospice Services.
