Blake Schmidtberger, 42, Hays, died Monday, December 11, 2023 at HaysMed.
He was born May 20, 1981 in Hays, the son of Karl and Deborah (Goetz) Schmidtberger. He graduated from Hays High School in 2000, and he attended college at Fort Hays State University and University of Missouri Kansas City. Blake was a creative person who expressed himself through creating art. He enjoyed painting, photography, playing guitar, and building custom motorcycles.
Survivors include his son Eric Schmidtberger of Council Bluffs, IA, his brother, Jesse Schmidtberger and wife Jennifer of Olathe, and their daughters, Josie and Julia.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Deacon Steve Urban officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until service time. Private family inurnment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Salvation Army.
