Sally Donnelly, 92, passed away peacefully at home on August 10, 2024, in Wichita, Kansas. She dedicated her life to the field of nursing, and, as a single parent, to her seven children.
Sally was a strong advocate of life-long learning as evidenced by her LPN, RN, and Family Nurse Practitioner degrees. She engaged in continued education throughout her 30 year career, earning certifications in Emergency Medical Technology and Cardiac Monitoring, to name a few.
Sally's passion for life was evident in her love for travel and adventure. She found joy in sharing her musical talents by playing the piano and singing in her community and church choirs. She also endeavored to learn new skills after retirement, especially gardening and crocheting, but was sure to save time for a variety of cooking shows and “Perry Mason.”
Sally is survived by her loving children, Kathleen, Mary, Suzanne, James, Michael, and Marguerite; 20 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and May Schrum; her siblings; as well as her son Gary Donnelly; daughter-in-law Janice Donnelly; and granddaughters Stacy and Jamie Donnelly.
Services will be held at Stinemetz Funeral Home, 522 N Pomeroy Avenue, Hill City, KS 67642, on September 21st at 2:00 p.m. to celebrate Sally’s life. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a local animal shelter, the ASPCA, or Hill City Christian Church, honoring her compassionate spirit and lifelong commitment to caring for others.
