Joyce Ann Staab, 76, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2022, at The Waldron Place, Hutchinson. She was born April 10, 1946, in Hays, to Lawrence and Felicita Staab.
In 1964, Joyce graduated from Marian High School in Hays. She attended Fort Hays State University and graduated in 1968 with her Bachelor’s Degree. She went on to Medical Technology Training at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, from 1968-1969. In 1982, she graduated from Fort Hays State University where received her Master’s Degree. Joyce worked for Hays Pathology Laboratory from 1969 to 1978 where she was a Microbiology Supervisor. She later worked for Hutchinson Hospital Corporation for 21 years and retired in 2006 as a Microbiology Supervisor-MT (ASCP)M. She was a member of The Church of the Holy Cross, Hutchinson.
Joyce is survived by a niece, E. Page Cunningham; grandnephew, Darren D. (Yumiko) Hudson; and twin great-grandnieces, Abby and Emma Sejima-Hudson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Patricia M. Bissing and a nephew, David W. Bissing.
Parish Rosary will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2022, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at The Church of the Holy Cross, 2631 Independence Rd., Hutchinson with Father Aaron Spexarth officiating.
Inurnment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays, on September 21, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be held Monday, September 19, 2022 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave. Hutchinson.
Memorial Contributions are suggested to Child Fund, American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association and can be sent in care of the funeral chapel.
