Jerry 'Jack' Dinkel

Jerry “Jack” Dinkel, age 85 of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022, in Lenexa, Kansas.

He was born January 8, 1937, in Victoria, Kansas, to Richard C. and Louise (Kuhn) Dinkel.  He married Marian Rose (Sigler) and she preceded him in death on December 8, 1976.

Jack grew up in Victoria with five other siblings, and was a graduate of Victoria High School. At the age of 19, he joined the US Air Force, and served with them for four years before being honorably discharged in November of 1960.

Jack and Marian Rose had two children together, John and Tom Dinkel. In his free time, Jack enjoyed riding on his motorcycles, and spending time with his family or on the beach. Jack loved traveling and spent many years living in Southern Texas and New Mexico. He was an avid Kansas Jayhawks fan and would always call home to report on the games.  

Survivors include his grandchildren, Thomas Dinkel and Lily Dinkel; his sisters, Bernadette Gottschalk and Marge Unrein.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his sons, John Dinkel and Tom Dinkel; his brothers, Francis Dinkel and Vernon Dinkel; his sisters, Marlene "Toots" Scheck and Jean Koerner.

A celebration of life service and Mass will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 22, 2022, at The Basilica of St. Fidelis, Victoria, Kansas, with Father Jim Moster O.F.M. Cap. officiating.  Inurnment will be in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria, Kansas.

A rosary will be at 12:30 P.M. Saturday at The Basilica of St. Fidelis.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 P.M. Saturday at The Basilica of St. Fidelis.

The family suggests memorial to the family, made payable to: Tom Dinkel or The Basilica of St. Fidelis, in care of the mortuary.
