Jennifer J. Goetz, age 43, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at her home in Topeka, Kansas from a brain aneurysm.

Jennifer was born December 12, 1979, in Hays, Kansas to Chris and Dana (Janzen) Goetz.

She attended Thomas More Prep-Marian High School and was a 1998 graduate. She studied behavioral health at Kansas University and graduated with a master’s degree from Fort Hays State University.

Jennifer’s was passionate about her work and helping families in need. She enjoyed volunteering to help rescue animals and spending as much time at the library as possible.

Jennifer is survived by her two sons, Gage Hallam and Wyatt Hallam; who live with their father, T.J. Hallam, in Andover, KS; her parents, Chris and Dana Goetz, of Hays, KS; her sister, Laura (Goetz) Buhlig, and husband, Tim, of Ogden, UT; her nieces and nephews, Kallie; Kaison; Joshua; Alexander; Ivan; and Layla; her maternal grandparents, Ed and Dixie Janzen, of Hays, KS; paternal grandmother, Lenora Goetz, of Hays, KS; her aunt, Lorna (Goetz) Doolittle and husband, Rick, of Overland Park, KS; her uncles, Christopher Janzen, of Hays, KS; Mark Goetz and wife, Kelly, (Schaffer), of Broomfield, CO; their two sons, Keenan and Braeden; and her best friend, Timarie Moravek, of Wyoming.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Charles Goetz.

A celebration of life service, and a private inurnment will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials for Gage and Wyatt, made payable to Gage Hallam or Wyatt Hallam, or the Humane Society of the High Plains, in care of Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays.
