Larry 'Hooly' Weinman

Larry Lee “Hooly” Weinman was born on February 11, 1951, to Willard and Esther (Miller) Weinman in Smith Center, Kansas. Larry passed away unexpectedly on October 15, 2022, in Newton, Kansas, at the age of 71.

Larry was baptized in 1951 and then confirmed in 1965 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Stuttgart, Kansas. Larry attended the Stuttgart grade school and graduated from Phillipsburg High school. 

Larry was united in marriage to Carol Daley of Agra on May 31, 1974. At the time of Carol’s death they spent 47 years together. 

Larry worked as a parts manager/mechanic at Leonard Ford motor Company in Phillipsburg for 30+ years. He then went to work at Orscheln‘s, Ace Hardware, Brooke then Ron’s Restoration till his health prevented him from working any longer. 

Larry enjoyed fishing. He also loved people and always wanted to be going somewhere like his mother, he also liked participating and attending Senior Life Solutions at the Phillips County Hospital. 

 Larry is survived by his sister Janice Giedd of the Phillipsburg, many cousins, two nieces and a nephew. He is preceded in death by his parents Willard and Esther, sister Sharon Kaye, brother-in-law James Giedd and wife Carol. Larry will be sadly missed by his family and friends. 

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 20, at 2:00 p.m. in the Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Stuttgart, with Pastor Lee Bennight officiating.  The service will be streamed live on the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel Facebook page.  Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Phillipsburg.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 Tuesday and 9:00 to 9:00 Wednesday at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Assoc. or the church.
