Arnold L. 'Arnie' Ochs, Otis

Arnold L. “Arnie” Ochs, 93, Otis, Kansas, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023, at Locust Grove Village, La Crosse, Kansas.

Arnold was born April 19, 1930, in rural Otis, Kansas, the son of Jacob H. and Elizabeth (Kaiser) Ochs. He was a lifelong resident of Rush County, Kansas.

A 1948 graduate of Otis Rural High School, Otis, Kansas, he was a shop foreman/mechanic for Ochs Inc., Otis, Kansas, before his retirement.

He was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Otis, Kansas, a former member of the Trinity Lutheran Church Council, Otis, Kansas, and a VFW member.

He was a United States Army veteran, serving during the Korean War as a mechanic in the motor pool.

Arnold was a “car guy” his whole life, always working on, and selling and buying cars. He bowled in a bowling league for many years.

Survivors include many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Clarence E. Ochs, Arthur C. Ochs, and Wilmer T. Ochs; and two sisters, Esther Dumler, and Hilda F. Deines.

Visitation will be Monday, August 7, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse, Kansas, with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m.  to 7:00 p.m.

Church visitation will be Tuesday, August 8, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:50 a.m.. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Otis, Kansas.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Otis, Kansas, with Stan Ewy, S.A.M. officiating. Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Otis, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers or plants, the family requests memorials to Locust Grove Village, La Crosse, Kansas.
