Raymond Duane Wait, 90, passed away on July 12, 2024 at his home in Norton, KS. Raymond was born on December 18, 1933 to Raymond W. Wait and Allie E. (Waas) Wait in Russell Springs, KS.
Raymond was raised in Sublette, KS and obtained his High School equivalency in 1955 after enlisting in the US Air Force as a Munitions technician where he served in Japan during the Korean Conflict from 1952-1954. Raymond married Barbara Wait on September 17, 1975 in Sublette, KS. From this marriage they had two children, Raymond and Angela. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and sewing. Raymond currently holds the Kansas State record for the largest saugeye and was awarded the Master Angler award for wiper.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara Wait; sister, Shirley Shotton, and brother, Charley Wait. He is survived by his son, Raymond (RD), his wife Rikki and their children: Rayanne, Jessi, Cody, and Alise all of Norton, KS; daughter, Angela Ndhlovu, her husband Panji and their children Malaika, Ethyn, and Samson (Jelani) of Topeka, KS and sister, Ardis Wait.
Private services will be held at a later date with inurnment in the Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery at WaKeeney, KS.
