Edmund Vincent Wassinger, Jr., age 79, died on June 22, 2023, at his home in Ness City, Kansas. He was born on March 28, 1944, in Port Townsend, WA the son of Edmund V. Wassinger, Sr. and Sylvia Goldie (Schweitzer) Wassinger.
Eddie owned and operated Eddie’s Service. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, and Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed drag racing and he was a member of the NHRA.
He married Barbara Bieber on May 19, 1973, in Norton, Kansas.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Wassinger of Ness City; two sons, Darin Wassinger of Shawnee, Kevin (Andrea) Wassinger of Topeka; two daughters, Suzann (Lance) Pfeifer of Firestone, CO, Meghan Rupp of Ness City; brother Terry Wassinger of Ness City; three sisters, Sandy (Larry) Barricklow of Sarasota, FL, Sherry Frick of Oakley, Tammi (Craig) Foos of Bazine; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be held at the Sacred Heart Church, Ness City on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, 10:00 a.m. with burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. A parish vigil will be held at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at 6:30 p.m.
