Ed was born in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, on June 15, 1936, a son of Ruth (Immel) and Leroy Herman Zimmerman.
He served in the United States Marine Corps and was a welder at ElDorado Bus and Kenison Inc.
Ed was a member of Salina USBC- Bowling, Salina Busch Pool League, American Legion Post 62, and was in the Demo Derby for 24 years.
Survivors include his daughter, Teresa Zimmerman-Dewitt, (Chuck) of Salina, Kansas; son, Ed Zimmerman Jr., (Kacey Johnston) of Stockton, Kansas; sister, Betty Dullebawn, of Mount Joy, Pennsylvania; and his significant other, Kathleen Nagely, of Salina, Kansas.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Wayne Zimmerman, Kirtistan "Kris" Zimmerman, Jordan Zimmerman, Collin Zimmerman; great grandchildren, Chance, Kaneden "Kane," Brody, Ryker, Maisie, Ava
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Kenneth Zimmerman, Charles Zimmerman; and sister, Anna Mae Soles.
Visitation will be held 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Tuesday, November 8th, at Carlson - Geisendorf Funeral Home, Salina, with family present from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, November 9th, at Carlson - Geisendorf Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Gypsum Hill Cemetery Salina, Kansas.
