🥎TMP sweeps rival Ellis in Monday doubleheader

HAYS – TMP softball moved its record to 12-0 with two run-rule victories over the Ellis Railroaders in Hays Monday.

GAME 1: TMP 19, Ellis 0

The Monarchs scored 15 runs in the first inning of game one in a 19-0 victory.

Rebel led off the bottom of the first with a triple, and after Hannah Rose was hit by a pitch, Brooke Koenigsman singled home a run, putting TMP up 1-0. A second run scored on a throw, and Koenigsman ended up on third.

Paige Koenigsman followed with an RBI double, and Bria Windholz added an RBI single, putting TMP up 4-0.

Two batters later, Brynn Schoepf singled him the fifth run of the first inning for TMP.

After the Monarchs' fourth straight single, they added a run on a wild pitch, and then Brynn Rebel doubled to center, driving in three runs and putting TMP up 9-0.

Ellis then committed back-to-back errors, the second of which allowed a run to score for a 10-0 TMP lead.

An Addison Watson made it 13-0 TMP.

Molly Helget capped off the Monarchs' first inning with a two-run triple, giving the Monarchs a 15-0 lead through the first inning of play.

In the second, with a runner on base, Brooke Koenigsman homered to center, giving TMP the 17-0 lead.

Three hitters later, the Monarchs added a pair of runs on two passed balls, putting TMP up 19-0.

Brynn Rebel was 2-for-2 at the plate and drove in three runs. Brooke Koenigsman drove in four runs and Paige Koenigsman added three RBIs.

Rebel earned the win with three shutout innings and six strikeouts.

GAME 2: TMP 15, Ellis 0

In the second game of the doubleheader, every Monarch in the lineup but one collected a base hit, and Bria Windholz turned in four perfect innings in the circle in a 15-0 TMP victory.

Windholz struck out seven in the victory.

Brynn Rebel led off the bottom of the first inning with a home run putting TMP up 1-0.

Two hitters later, the Monarchs added a run on an error and a Piper Simpson single, making it 3-0 TMP.

It was 4-0 TMP following an Addison Watson RBI groundout, and then Brynn Schoepf singled for a 5-0 TMP lead through the first inning.

Following a Rebel triple to lead off the bottom of the second, a Rose sacrifice fly made it 6-0 TMP.

A second triple for TMP in the inning, by Brooke Koenigsman, followed by a Simpson RBI groundout made it 7-0 TMP.

Watson drove in a second run on a two-out single, giving TMP an 8-0 lead through the second inning.

In the bottom third, the Monarchs opened the scoring on an error, and then Paige Koenigsman's two-run single made it 11-0 TMP.

A Windholz triple scored Koenigsman, and an error on the next play scored the courtesy runner for Windholz, putting TMP up 13-0.

Addison Watson stole home to close out the TMP threat in the third with a 14-0 lead.

In the bottom of the fourth, TMP’s Rose singled home the Monarchs' 15th run of the game, giving them the 15-0 victory.

Brynn Rebel and Brynn Schoepf each recorded three hits, and Adison Watson drove in three runs for the Monarchs.

TMP travels to Goodland to take on the Cowgirls on Tuesday.
