Douglas M. Volkland, 80, passed away on December 1, 2022, at his home
 in Pawnee Rock, KS. He was born on June 24, 1942, in Bushton, Kan., to 
Phil and Effie (Darnell) Volkland.

A lifelong area resident, Douglas recently retired from his career as
 a CPA, as well as serving his clients. He loved his work and, in his 
spare time, loved watching movies.

Survivors include two sons, Eric (Shannon Reed) Volkland of Labadie, 
Mo. and Daniel of Delaware; and two sisters, Jeannie Heubner of 
Jacksonville, FL and Jacqueline Gmur of San Antonio, Tex. He is preceded
 in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to Noon, Friday, December 9, 
2022, at Bryant Funeral Home. A graveside service will then follow at 
2:00 p.m., at Bushton Cemetery, Bushton, KS, with Rev. Daniel Vandenburg
 presiding. 

Memorials have been designated to the American Heart 
Association, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
