Joel D. Fose, 60, Hays, died Thursday, February 1, 2024 at HaysMed.
He was born May 27, 1963 in Jetmore, the son of Ralph and Luella (Hey) Fose. On October 18, 2004 he was united in marriage to Lisa M. Koerner in Las Vegas, Nevada. Joel worked at Wal-Mart and was a member of Celebration Community Church. He was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan, and he enjoyed watching movies, being at the lake, gardening, fishing, and golfing. Most of all, Joel loved his family.
Survivors include his wife Lisa M. Fose of Hays, his stepson, Scott Hupka and wife Nichole of Whiteman Air Force Base, three stepdaughters, Trina Messina and husband Dylan of Arcadia, OK, Ashley Hupka and fiancé Nathan Baumann of Newton, and Heather Hupka and fiancé Gabe Ibarra of McPherson, a brother, Jay Fose and wife Carey of WaKeeney, three sisters, Lorna Nutt and husband Joe of Mustang, OK, Lana Dinkel of Ellis, and Lisa J. Fose of Ellis, a sister-in-law, Jean Fose of WaKeeney, nine step grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John and Jerry Fose, a brother-in-law, Mike Dinkel, and a niece, Jena Scheffe.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Celebration Community Church with Pastor Brant Rice officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until service time on Wednesday at the church. Memorials are suggested for family wishes with checks payable to Lisa M. Fose.
