Kanyn James Sharkey, 1, passed away December 26, 2023, at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis, Wichita, Kansas. He was born on June 16, 2022, in Great Bend, Kansas, to Taylor Sharkey.&nbsp;

Survivors include his mother of Otis, Kansas; grandparents, Mike and Colleen Sharkey of Otis, Kansas; uncle, Todd Sharkey and wife, Chantel of Otis Kansas; cousins, Josie and Parker Sharkey of Otis, Kansas; and numerous other loved ones.

Visitation will take place 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 29, 2023, with rosary at 7:00 p.m., all at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, December 30, 2023, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Olmitz, Kansas, with Father Bob Schremmer presiding. Interment will follow at St. Ann’s Cemetery. The family has requested that guests dress casually. Guests are strongly recommended to wear masks for the safety of themselves and others. Memorials have been designated to the Brit Spaugh Zoo or Otis Fire Department, in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, PO Box 146, Hoisington, KS 67544.
