Margie Lou Purdy, 88, Rush Center, Kansas, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Rush County Memorial Hospital, La Crosse, Kansas.
Margie was born January 30, 1935, in Olmitz, Kansas, the daughter of George and Augusta (Springer) Nordman. She was a resident of Rush County, Kansas, since May 1983, moving there from Alamosa, Colorado.
She graduated from the Kansas School for the Deaf, Olathe, Kansas. She was a homemaker.
On August 25, 1973, she married Jay M. Purdy at Sacred Heart Church, Alamosa, Colorado. He preceded her in death June 7, 1999.
Survivors include numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Maurice Nordman; and three sisters, Alice Oborny, Melba Stos, and Norma Knight.
Visitation (weather permitting) will be Tuesday, December 5, 2023, from 10:30 a.m.. to 11:00 a.m. at Great Bend Cemetery, Great Bend, Kansas.
Graveside service will be Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Great Bend Cemetery, Great Bend, Kansas, with Pastor Daniel Lineberry officiating. Interment will be in the Great Bend Cemetery, Great Bend, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers or plants, the family requests memorials to the Kansas School for the Deaf, Olathe, Kansas.
