Vicki Lynn was born on February 3rd, 1945, the daughter of Walter W “Bud” and Velda “Wheeler” Shearmire of Modoc, Kansas.

She grew up in Modoc and graduated from SCHS in 1962.

In May after graduation, she began working at the IGA grocery store in Scott City where she worked until 1971. Moving after marriage, she worked for Presto stores in Satanta and Dighton, then moved to Leoti, KS in 1974.

In December of 1974, Don and Vicki began managing the Leoti Lanes Bowling Alley for 11 years. Don was a meat cutter and Vicki worked at Dairy King while managing the bowling alley. Later Vicki worked at the Leoti Standard newspaper for 18 years.

Vicki enjoyed sports and watched her kids and grandkids’ activities.

She is survived by her three children – Marti (Dorothy) Bremer, Ron Bremer, and Mindi Bremer; 12 grandchildren – Justin (Shelby) Bremer, Kyle (Jaylyn Dirks) Bremer, Trae (Jewell) Bremer, Tailar (Seth) McGregor and four other grandchildren; great-granddaughter Mayzee, one on the way, and one other great-granddaughter; brother Randy Shearmire; and several nieces, nephews, and numerous cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Wennie Shearmire, Terry Shearmire, sister-in-law Kathi Shearmire, daughter-in-law Brenda Bremer, nephew Cary Shearmire; great-nephew Jamie Dyer; and  great-grandson Josiah Seth McGregor.

Celebration of Life will be on Thursday, June 1st, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. - noon and a come and go with family and friends from noon-2:00 p.m. at the Leoti Golf Course Club House.
