Clarence Ray Corke, 70, died March 1, 2024, at Clovis, CA. Born March 18, 1953 in Hays, Kansas, he was the son of Kenneth and Dolores (Simon) Corke. Clarence married Sharon Lew in 1983 and they later relocated to California. She passed away in 2012.
Following his graduation from Goodland High School in 1971, he enlisted in the United States Navy. Clarence was a chef on the USS Ponchatoula and was stationed at Pearl Harbor. Following his military service, he worked for the Sheridan Hotel chain in Honolulu, HI and as a civil service employee at Pearl Harbor. He worked in San Jose for Schlumberger and for the SaveMart Events Center on the Fresno State campus.
He is survived by his sisters, Carlotta McDermott of Colby, Marian Corke of Great Bend and Marlene Regehr and husband Don of Great Bend; his brothers, Rodney of Goodland and Roger and wife Barbara of Azle, TX; five nieces and nephews, Eric Corke, Chelsea Ross and husband Jason, Chianne Corke, Allison Newman and husband Cavanaugh, and Madison Regehr; one great niece, Danika Corke; and three great nephews Talon Corke, and Spencer and Sutton Ross. Clarence was preceded in death by his wife Sharon; his parents; and a brother-in-law, John McDermott.
A memorial service will be held at a future date.
